In Loving Memory of Dr. Taylor Pratt

November 26, 1976 – October 8, 2011

Son of Janene (Close) Pratt

Dr. Taylor Pratt is with his Heavenly Father after passing away peacefully, while surrounded by his loving family. Arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home of Bryan. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 10, at the A&M Church of Christ in College Station. A service to celebrate and remember Taylor's strong faith and extraordinary life will be held at 1 p.m. at the A&M Church of Christ on Tuesday, October 11, 2011.

Taylor was born to Dr. Gordon and Janene Pratt in Bryan. While attending school at Bryan High, he met the love of his life, Niki Januse, whom he later married on June 20, 1998. Taylor and Niki shared a beautiful marriage rarely seen in this world. They were inseparable friends and partners. Their unwavering devotion to each other was a powerful testimony to all surrounding them. God blessed their marriage with two amazing children: a wonderful daughter named Rosalyn and a courageous son named Chalon.

Taylor's academic and professional pursuits were remarkable. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, Taylor attended dental and medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Following completion of his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2008, Taylor began his professional practice as a partner at the Brazos Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center in College Station.

Blessed with many talents, Taylor was a gifted and accomplished athlete who had a passion for the outdoors. Hunting, running, cycling, and skiing were all pastimes that Taylor enjoyed as often as he had the chance. He also loved watching the Aggies compete in any sport and shared that joy with his family and friends. Although his years in this world were few, he filled each day with life, laughter, and love.

A man of deep beliefs, Taylor's faith in Jesus Christ was an ever-present part of his life. From the compassionate care he provided to his patients, to the devoted way he attended to his family, Taylor dedicated his life to serving others to bring glory to God. Never missing an opportunity to make a difference in someone's life, Taylor made a habit of seeking ways to make a positive impact through a selfless act of kindness or generosity.

Nowhere was Taylor's character better revealed than in his love, dedication, and commitment to his family. He leaves behind a wife of thirteen years who he adored and two children he absolutely cherished. He also leaves behind a legacy of faith, integrity, humility, strength, and courage.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret Pratt, his grandmother-in-law, Bobbie McGuire and his grandfather-in-law, C. F. Januse.

Taylor is survived by his wife, Niki; his daughter, Rosalyn, and his son, Chalon, of Bryan; his parents, Dr. Gordon and Janene Pratt of Bryan; his sister, Madelyn Pratt of Austin; his father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Carmen Januse of Bryan; his brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Januse and his wife Amber and their two sons Parker and Sawyer of Franklin, and Jordan Januse and his wife Madison of Bryan; his grandfather, Dr. Gordon Pratt, Sr. of Bryan; grandparents Garth and Nona Close of Burnett, Texas; grandmother-in-law, Mary Januse of Bryan; and grandfather-in-law Mike McGuire of Bryan.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Curtis Garrett for the tender and dignified way in which he provided palliative care. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to: The Taylor Pratt Charitable Trust, 1 Momentum Boulevard, Bryan, Texas, 77845.
